Good news – I was successful in my application to Create the National Agency for the Development of Collaborative Arts for a research and development award for the Urban Explorer Project. This will give me time to reflect on what has happened so far and to plan future work. The practical part of this phase of research is now finished. It was a wonderfully intense roller coaster of serendipity, missed opportunity, weather watching, litter picking, joyful presence, some swearing, considerable sweat, new alliances, stimulating conversation and hopeful optimism. Spoken Word Open Mic at the Rock

Join Patricia O’Sullivan and Josephine MacCarthy for an Inclusive Dance workshop on Thursday 30th July, 1:15 – 1:45, followed by an improvised dance performance by contemporary dancer Tara Brandel as part of her series Limegreen. Singing at the Rock

Join Liz Clark and the Baltimore Singers on Wednesday 1:15 – 1:45. They  will perform their own original composition, written collaboratively with key members of the community and about the community as part of The Starling Song Project. They will also sing songs from their extensive repertory of contemporary songs.

Nature Walk for Children

Join Gillian O’Donovan for a short lunch-time nature walk 1:15 – 1:45 on Tuesday 28th July. This short workshop is aimed at children aged 4-8. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Gillian is a native of Skibbereen. She has have worked with children of all ages – s an outdoor instructor at Kinsale Outdoor Education Centre and Oysterhaven Activities Centre. She is keen about getting kids outdoors and often brings her own kids to local woods to explore.  Gillian says, “Children can learn … Read More
