I was commissioned to provide a temporary installation at Rua Red Arts Centre for the National Dialogue Arts + Health event. ct scan directed attention towards academic discourses on arts and health and medical humanities. A cross-section of narratives brought into focus rich conversations for participant enagagement and interaction. The fabric of the building provided an infrastructure, to support these discourses, embedding them into the everyday life of the site and as part of the of the functioning apparatus of the arts community.
Dialogue Arts + Health was a regionally based professional development project for artists and practitioners working in arts and health settings. The project included three main strands – Regional Dialogue Sessions, a National | Dialogue Arts + Health and an Online | Dialogue as web-based discussion forum for communication and documentation on the project.
The Regional Dialogue Sessions took place in Cavan, Offaly, Galway and Limerick between September and November 2011. The National | Dialogue Arts + Health took place at RUA RED, Tallaght on the 6 December 2011. I was also commissioned to produce a Witness Writer text to document the regional dialogues that took place in Limerick.
