Join Patricia O’Sullivan and Josephine MacCarthy for an Inclusive Dance workshop on Thursday 30th July, 1:15 – 1:45, followed by an improvised dance performance by contemporary dancer Tara Brandel as part of her series Limegreen. Tara is dancer in residence at Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre where her 25 year retrospective is currently on show. She is director of Croi Glan dance company.
Inclusive Dance is a ground breaking new dance form where people with and without disabilities dance together in an enjoyable, playful and creative environment. During these workshops the facilitator builds up trust and confidence; increases physicality and range of motion; provides an outlet for physical expression and creativity; and celebrates the diversity of the human body and the uniqueness of each person’s way of moving. Many of you may remember the epic 2014 performance Bridge in Ballydehob. The workshop will provide a brief introduction to Inclusive Dance on a come and try basis.
